Introduction
The Saint Ignatius Wolfpack boys basketball program will instill the needed qualities of
faith, discipline, determination and commitment in each individual and focus those
qualities into a philosophy of selflessness and giving to the school community and
team in order to achieve excellence and build a foundation for lifelong success.
The Team
Saint Ignatius boys basketball is a Class 4A program that competes in the Chicago Catholic
League North Division.
Last Season Recap
The Wolfpack varsity boys basketball team ended the 2009-2010 season with a 15-13
record. The Wolfpack finished third in the tough St. Rita Mc Govern Classic Thanksgiving
Tournament and went 2-2 in the prestigious York High School Jack Tosh Christmas
Tournament. The Pack was 8-6 and took second in the Catholic League North and beat
St. Patrick’s in the first game of the State Regional play-offs before falling to
eventual champion Foreman. Nnanna Egwu was named to the All-Catholic League first
team, leading the League for the second year in a row in blocked shots. Tyrone Staggers
also garnered All-CCL honors, being named one of the top 25 players. The sophomore
team took first place in the North with a 13-1 record and finished 22-4 overall.
The freshman team finished at 12-11, marking the second straight year all three
levels have finished with winning records.
