Introduction
Welcome to the home of the Ignatius Rugby Football Club (IRFC).
Our club was co-founded in 2001 by Thomas “Tank” O’Brien and Martin
Perry and functions as a non-school sponsored club sport at Saint Ignatius College
Prep in Chicago. From the teams’ inception, we have attained great success
and have quickly risen to the top of the Illinois Youth Rugby Association (IYRA)
High School Boys Tier I ranks.
If you are a Saint Ignatius College Prep student and would like to be a part of
our club, please click the form below, fill it out and mail it as soon as possible
to the address found at the bottom of page 5. Please check our game schedule and

Last Season Recap
The rugby team, led by Head Coaches Marty Perry and Tank O’Brien, finished 3rd in
the Illinois Youth Rugby Association Tier 1 East with a 3-2 regular season record.
The Wolfpack’s most significant win was a 17-14 road victory over previously unbeaten
Lincoln Way on May 2. Brendan Coleman did a great job captaining the side throughout
the season while Bob Mulvaney played with the USA Under-19 team on a tour to England
over Easter break. The season concluded on the weekend of May 16, with a loss in
a first round playoff game to Naperville but on the following day, the underclassmen
won the St. Charles freshman-sophomore invitational with victories over Brother
Rice, St. Charles and Morton. Jake Rozner was named MVP of the tournament.
