Last Season Recap
The 2010 varsity soccer season opened with a 0-0 tie with Class AA powerhouse Lemont,
just one of a few highly-ranked teams that were on the 2010 schedule. In earning
their 11-6-3 record, the Wolfpack played top 10-ranked Oak Park to a 3-0 loss and
defeated #10-ranked Leyden 2-1. After going 2-1-2 in its first 5 games, the team
went 3-1 in the Lincoln Way Central Tournament, losing to Sandburg (3-0) and defeating
Lincoln Way Central (1-0), Eisenhower (4-0) and Reavis (3-0) to take 3rd in the
tournament. In Catholic League Blue action, the Wolfpack earned a 4- 2-0 league
record, good enough for 2nd place with victories over Br. Rice (2-0), Fenwick (1-
0), Providence (2-0) and Mt. Carmel (4-0) and losses to St. Joseph (3-0) and Loyola
(2-1). The season ended with a 2-1 loss to Chicago Public League Champion Kelly
in the Regional Semi- final in a game that was decided after 4 overtimes and penalty
kicks. The team record included 12 shut-outs, one shy of a school record 13 for
a season.
