Pack Place 4th at MCAC Championships
01/30/2012 - Frosh/Soph

The Wolfpack finished in 4th place at the MCAC Championships on Sunday at Marmion Academy.  Senior Joe Imburgia had the highest finish for the Wolfpack, taking 3rd in the 100 backstroke.  Imburgia finished 7th in the 100 free and was a member of the 5th place 200 medley relay (Imburgia, Zymon, Blake, Reyes) as well as the 4th place 200 free relay (Imburgia, Tsang, Zymon, Reyes).  Aaron Echeverria had a strong meet, taking 4th in the 500 free and 7th in the 200 free.  Echeverria was on the 7th place 200 medley relay with Christy, Tsang and Browne and the 7th place 400 free relay with Blake, Christy and Browne.  Top 8 performances were turned in by John Reyes (50 free), Zach Blake (100 fly) and Tym Zymon (100 breast).  Additional individual scoring efforts came from John Reyes (100 free), Neil Browne (200 free), Themio Christy (50 free) and Alex Tsang (100 breast). 

Wolfpack Defeat Young on Senior Night

The Pack (7-2) wrapped up their dual meet season with a win at home on Senior Night over Whitney Young.  The night started off with a bang as John Murphy set a new school record in the 1 Meter Diving competition, breaking his former record by 9 points.  The Wolfpack were led by double event winner Jaime Juarez (50 free/500 free) and Billy Barth’s win in the 100 backstroke.  Strong performances were turned in by Duncan Martinson, Jeremy Knapp and Angus Tam. 

Pack Take Down Young
01/27/2012 - Frosh/Soph

The Wolfpack improved to 8-1 with a victory over Young, winning 10 of 11 events including all 3 relays.  Double event winners include Kevin Walsh (200 IM/500 free) and Gunnar Glaab (50 free/100 breast).  Event winners include Tym Zymon (200 free), Tom Dowling (100 free) and Aaron Echeverria (100 back).  At the break the 8 seniors were honored – Brayden Amendola, Brendan Brown, Max Enger, Joe Imburgia, Jaime Juarez, Bradley Mueller, Angus Tam and Alex Tsang.  Up next for the Wolfpack is the MCAC Championships this Sunday at Marmion.

Pack Split with MCAC Rivals
01/25/2012 - Varsity

The Wolfpack fell to #23 Fenwick on the road on Tuesday but did pick up a win against Brother Rice to improve their record to 6-2 on the season.  The Wolfpack finished second to the Friars in all 3 relays and were led by double event winner Jaime Juarez (200 IM / 100 fly).  Top 3 performances were turned in by Billy Barth (50 free), Angus Tam (50 free), John Murphy (1M Diving), Jesus Juarez (100 fly) and Duncan Martinson (500 free / 100 back.

Friars Give Pack 1st Dual Loss

The Pack (7-1 overall) also fell to the Friars but did defeat Rice and were led by double event winner Gunnar Glaab (200 IM / 100 back).  Top 3 performances were turned in by Aaron Echeverria (200 free), James Bormes (50 free), Kevin Walsh (100 free / 100 breast), John Reyes (100 free) and Patrick Kennedy (500 free).  Up next for the Wolfpack is the final home meet of the year against Whitney Young on Thursday.

Pack 2nd at Lockport Invite
01/23/2012 - Varsity

The Wolfpack finished 2nd at the Lockport Invite on Saturday.  The Wolfpack were led by event winners Jaime Juarez (100 fly) and Brayden Amendola (100 breast).  Each also had a third place individual finish in the 200 free and 200 IM, respectively.  The 200 free relay of Juarez, Bradley Mueller, Angus Tam and Billy Barth provided the Wolfpack with a relay win posting their best time of the year.  The 200 medley relay team of Jeremy Knapp, Amendola, Jesus Juarez and Mueller finished second place.  Top 8 performances were turned in by Jesus Juarez (200 IM / 100 fly), Billy Barth (50 free / 100 free), James Haney (500 free) and the 400 free relay of Barth, Juarez, Juarez and Amendola.  Duncan Martinson, Tom Dowling and Max Enger also had strong individual and relay performances.

Wolfpack Take 6th at Shepard Invite
01/23/2012 - Frosh/Soph

Ignatius finished 6th at the Shepard Invite on Saturday.  The Wolfpack were led by Patrick Kennedy who posted a pair of third place performances in the 200 free and 100 fly.  The Fr/So medley relay team of Gunnar Glaab, Kevin Walsh, Kennedy and John Reyes provided the team with a victory, winning by over 3 seconds.  Glaab also had a strong 3rd place showing in the 500 free and 8th in the 100 back.  The Fr/So 200 free relay of Reyes, Tym Zymon, Aaron Echeverria and Zach Blake finished 3rd.  Joe Imburgia had a pair of 7th places performances in the 200 free and 100 fly and Kevin Walsh scored points for the team in the 100 breast.  Up next for the Wolfpack is an away meet at Fenwick against the Friars and Brother Rice on Tuesday.

Pack Sweep Latin and St. Patrick

The Wolfpack improved to 5-1 on the season with victories over Latin and St. Patrick on Tuesday night.  Ignatius won 6 of the 12 events and were led by double event winner Jaime Juarez (50 free/100 back).  Event winners include John Murphy (1M diving), Brayden Amendola (200 free), the 200 medley relay (Martinson, Amendola, Juarez, Mueller) and the 400 free relay (Amendola, Barth, Juarez, Juarez).

Wolfpack Stay Unbeaten

The Pack moved to 6-0 on the season with victories over Latin and St. Patrick, winning 9 of the 11 events including all 3 relays.  Aaron Echeverria (200 free/500 free) and Joe Imburgia (100 free/100 back) led the way as double event winners.  Single event winners include Tom Dowling (200 IM) and James Bormes (50 free).  The team is next in action on Saturday at the Lockport and Shepard Invites.

Wolfpack 4th at R-B Invite
01/17/2012 - Varsity

The Wolfpack finished 4th at the R/B Invite over the weekend.  Ignatius was led by Brayden Amendola’s first place finish in the 100 breaststroke and third place finish in the 200 IM.  Runner-up performances were turned in by Jaime Juarez (200 IM / 100 fly), John Murphy (1M Diving), the Fr/So 200 medley relay (Knapp, Walsh, Juarez, Bormes) and the 400 free relay of (Juarez, Juarez, Barth, Martinson).  Top 6 performances came from Martinson, Amendola, Juarez and Mueller (200 medley relay), Haney (200 free / 500 free), Barth (50 free / 100 free), Martinson (500 free / 100 back), Knapp (100 back) and Amendola, Walsh, Bormes and Haney (200 free relay).  The team is next in action on Tuesday as they host Latin and St. Patrick.


Pack Sweep Caravan and Mustangs

The Wolfpack started off the New Year with victories over Mt. Carmel and St. Rita.  The Pack won 11 of the 12 events contested and were led by double individual event winners Jaime Juarez (500 free / 100 breast) and Brayden Amendola (100 fly / 100 back).  Single event winners include Duncan Martinson (200 free), James Haney (200 IM), Jesus Juarez (100 free) and John Murphy (1M Diving). 

Pack Win Both Duals

The Pack swept all 11 events and were paced by double event winners Joe Imburgia (50 free/100 back) and Angus Tam (200 free / 500 free).  Individual events include Patrick Kennedy (200 IM), Aaron Echeverria (100 free) and John Reyes (100 breast). 

#3 Ramblers Defeat Pack

The Pack fell to #3 Loyola on the road on Friday night.  The Wolfpack posted numerous season and personal best times in both individual and relay performances.  Jaime Juarez led a 1-2-3 sweep for the Wolfpack in the 100 butterfly.  Strong performances were turned in by Brayden Amendola and Kevin Barth. 

Pack Hold Off Ramblers
12/19/2011 - Frosh/Soph

The Wolfpack pulled out a victory over the Ramblers winning two of the three relays and were led by double event winners Kevin Walsh (50 free/100 breast) and Gunnar Glaab (200 IM/500 free).  Patrick Kennedy led a 1-2-3 for the Wolfpack in the 100 fly.  Tom Dowling posted a victory in the 100 backstroke.

Pack Defeat Northside

The Wolfpack opened up the dual meet season with a win at home over Northside College Prep on Tuesday night.  The Wolfpack won 9 of 12 events including all three relays to defeat the Mustangs by a score of 117-61.  The Wolfpack were led by double event winners Jaime Juarez (200 free/100 free) and Duncan Martinson (500 free/100 back).  Single event winners were Billy Barth (50 free) and Brayden Amendola (100 breast) for the Wolfpack.

The Pack dominated their meet, winning by over 100 points including a sweep of all 11 events.  The team was led by double event winners Kevin Walsh (50 free/100 breast) and Gunnar Glaab (500 free/100 back).  Single event winners include Zach Blake (200 free), Aaron Echeverria (200 IM), Patrick Kennedy (100 fly) and John Reyes (100 free).

Wolfpack Win Shamrock Relays
12/12/2011 - Varsity

The Pack won the Shamrock Relays for the 6th year in a row on Sunday.  The Wolfpack won 8 of the 17 relays contested and took runner-up honors in 6 to outdistance runner-up Niles West by 52 points.  Winning relays include the Freshman Medley Relay (Glaab, Knapp, Juarez, Echeverria), IM Relay (Juarez, Enger, Juarez), 500 Crescendo (Mueller, Enger, Haney, Amendola), Freshman 50 Free (Barth), Senior 50 Free (Juarez), Freshman Free Relay (Knapp, Glaab, Echeverria, Barth), Sophomore Free Relay (Walsh, Kennedy, Dowling, Martinson) and 400 Free Relay (Juarez, Barth, Juarez, Amendola).  The boys are next in action on Tuesday as they open their home dual meet season against Northside College Prep.

Wolfpack Win St. Viator Invite

The Wolfpack captured 1st place at the St. Viator Invite on Wednesday night.  The team used a balanced attack, scoring multiple swimmers in all but one event.  Event winners include Jaime Juarez (200 IM), Duncan Martinson (100 back) and the 400 free relay of Juarez, Billy Barth, Martinson and Brayden Amendola.  Jaime posted a runner-up finish in the 100 fly and teamed up with Martinson, Amendola and Bradley Mueller to take 2nd in the medley relay.  Martinson had a 3rd place finish in the 500 free and was part of the 1-2 100 backstroke sweep with Jeremy Knapp.  Amendola finished 3rd in both the 200 IM and 100 breast and Jesus Juarez was 3rd in the 200 free.  Other top 6 performances were turned in by James Haney (100 fly/500 free), Barth (200 free/100 free) and the 200 free relay of Barth, Mueller, Jesus Juarez and James Bormes.  The team is next in action on Saturday at the Shamrock Relays.

Pack 3rd at Deerfield Relays

The Wolfpack opened up their season with a  3rd place performance at the Warrior Relays on Friday night.  The foursome of Billy Barth, Jesus Juarez, Duncan Martinson and Jaime Juarez won the 500 Crescendo Relay.  The team finished 2nd in the Fr/So Medley Relay (Martinson, Knapp, Juarez, Bormes), 2nd in the Backstroke Relay (Knapp, Martinson, Mueller) and 2nd in the Fr/So Free Relay (Barth, Bormes, Knapp, Martinson).  The team is next in action on Wednesday at the St. Viator Invite.
