Strong Showing for Pack
10/24/2011 - Varsity

The Wolfpack finished their season on Friday at the IHSA State Tournament. Michelle DeMeo and Bethany Lynch won the sectional title and competed on Friday. In the first round they played Mt. Vernon and won 6-2, 6-1. In the next round the Wolfpack faced Fenwick, winning 6-1, 6-0. In the third round they took on the #2 seed in the tournament, playing well but losing in a close, 3-set battle, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

DeMeo and Lynch Headed to State
10/17/2011 - Varsity

On Saturday the Wolfpack placed 3rd with 16 points in the IHSA Sectional Tournament. Michelle DeMeo and Bethany Lynch won first place in the doubles draw beating MPA in a tight three-set battle 1-6, 6-2, 6-4, qualifying them for the IHSA State Tournament. Kate Ryan won her first match 6-0, 6-0 with ease but lost in the second round to De La Salle. Carla O’Byrne had a bye in the first round, won her second round match 6-0, 6-0 and then lost 6-3, 6-4 to Brooks in a close match. Finally, Diane Casini and Lauren Woznicki played well but lost 6-1, 6-3 to MPA in the first round of the doubles draw.

Pack 2nd at GCAC Championships
10/11/2011 - Varsity

On Thursday the Wolfpack defeated Morgan Park Academy 4-1. On Saturday the team took second place in the GCAC tournament, losing to Loyola Academy 24-25. Bethany Lynch at #1 singles came in first place, winning her match against De La Salle 6-4, 6-2. Carla O'Byrne at #2 singles came in first place, beating Loyola 6-4, 6-0. Michelle DeMeo and Kate Ryan at #1 doubles lost a tight three-set match in the finals to Loyola 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Diane Casini and Lauren Peterson lost a close match in the finals to Loyola 7-6, 7-1, 6-4. Finally, Lauren McGowan and Sarah Mitchell lost a close match in the finals to Loyola 6-2, 6-4.

Pack Wrap Up Fantastic Season; 2nd at GCAC

The Wolfpack took 2nd place at the GCAC Championships on Saturday. All five teams made it to the final round where they all played the Ramblers of Loyola. Maura Lynch was victorious at second singles, winning in two sets. The doubles team of Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won their final match against Loyola with a 2-1 set victory. The final score of the final round of the tournament was 3-2 Loyola.

Wolfpack 2nd at L-W Invite
09/26/2011 - Varsity

Saint Ignatius came in second place at the Lincoln Way Invite despite being down their two top players due to illness. Everyone played well at the invite this weekend. Lauren McGowan stepped in at the last minute to play for Bethany Lynch, who was sick. She did an excellent job and got to the finals of the back draw and came in 6th place out of 16 teams. Kate Ryan and Carla O’Bryne played great and won the entire tournament for number one doubles, defeating Providence in the finals 6-4, 6-1. Diane Casini and Lauren Woznicki also did well and came in second place, losing to Fenwick in a close three-set match 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Finally Lauren Peterson played well but lost in the semi-finals of the back draw.

The Wolfpack beat Mother McAuley last night, bringing their undefeated season record to 8-0. Stephanie DiCaro played first singles winning 8-1. Maura Lynch played second singles winning 8-1. Claudia Vickrey and Christina Braxton played together in first doubles to shut out their opponents 8-0. Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won 8-2, playing second doubles. Ellie Girgis and Elizabeth Raterman won 8-4 in the third doubles position.

Wolfpack Shut Down Mighty Macs

The Pack defeated the Mother McAuley on Thursday with a score of 8-0. Bethany Lynch, playing first singles, shut out her opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Lauren Peterson at second singles won her match with ease 6-0, 6-3. Kate Ryan and Carla O'Byrne at first doubles won 6-2, 6-3. Diane Casini and Lauren Woznicki won at second doubles 6-1, 6-1. Chloe Partelow and Lauren McGowan at three doubles won 6-1, 6-3. Sarah Mitchell and Leah Loridas at forth doubles won 6-0, 6-1 and finally at fifth doubles Marilyn McNamara and Amanda Ing won 6-0, 6-1.

The Pack defeated Francis Parker 5-1 in a non-conference showdown. Bethany Lynch played an excellent match and defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-3. Carla O'Bryne and Kate Ryan at 1st doubles won with little difficulty 6-1, 6-2. Diane Casini and Lauren Woznicki at 2nd doubles had a close match but defeated their opponents 7-5, 6-1. At three singles Lauren McGowan shut out her opponent 6-0, 6-0. Finally, at three doubles Leah Loridas and Sarah Mitchell won a close match 6-2, 2-6 and (10-5).

Wolfpack Win Lockport Invite

It was another exceptional weekend of Wolfpack tennis! The Pack played at the Lockport Invite, capturing first place honors. It has been two years since the Wolfpack won this tournament. Junior, Bethany Lynch, playing 2nd singles, won 1st place. Freshmen Carla O'Bryne and Kate Ryan at 1st doubles won 1st place. Junior Diane Casini and sophomore Lauren Woznicki at 2nd doubles won 1st place. Junior Leah Loridas and junior Sarah Mitchell at third doubles took 2nd place, and finally junior Lauren McGowan and senior Chloe Partelow played 4th doubles and came in 1st place.

The Wolfpack went undefeated against Regina last night, bringing their record to 6-0. Stephanie DiCaro played first singles, winning 8-0. Maura Lynch played second singles, winning 8-1. Claudia Vickrey and Christina Braxton played together in first doubles to shut out their opponents 8-1. Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won 8-2, playing second doubles. Ellie Girgis and Elizabeth Raterman had an 8-3 victory in the third doubles position. Grace Severino and Allegra Ehrfeld won 8-0 in the fourth doubles position. Erica Cornelius and Mathilde Geannopulos had a 8-3 victory in the fifth doubles position.

The Pack continued their undefeated season (5-0) with a big win against the Loyola Ramblers! Stephanie DiCaro played first singles, winning 8-1. Maura Lynch played second singles, winning 8-6. Claudia Vickrey and Christina Braxton played together in first doubles with an 8-5 win. Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won 8-3, playing second doubles.

Loyola Tops Wolfpack

The Wolfpack lost to the Loyola Ramblers by a score of 5-2. It was a tough loss for the Wolfpack. Two standout matches were won at the singles positions. Junior Bethany Lynch won her match at #1 singles 6-4, 6-0 and freshman Carla O'Bryne won her match at #2 singles 6-2, 6-1.

Pack 2nd at Fremd

The Wolfpack took part in the Fremd Invite on Saturday and took 2nd place out of eight teams with a team total of 41 points in their best showing in the tournament. Michelle DeMeo (1st singles) took 3rd place, Bethany Lynch (2nd singles) took 1st place, Lauren McGowan (3rd singles) took 4th place, Carla O'Bryne and Kate Ryan (1st doubles) took 3rd place, Diane Casini and Lauren Woznicki (2nd doubles) placed 5th, Lauren Peterson and Sarah Mitchell (3rd doubles) took 4th place and finally Marilynn MacNamara and Leah Loridas (4th doubles) came in 2nd place.

Wolfpack Win Marian Catholic Invite

The Pack took home 1st place at the Marian Catholic Invitational with all teams playing in seven undefeated matches against Marian Catholic, Mother McAuley, Lincoln-Way West, Minooka, Oak Lawn, Rich East and T F South. First place first doubles medals went to Maura Lynch and Stephanie DiCaro. First place second doubles medals went to Christina Braxton and Claudia Vickrey. First place third doubles medals went to Elizabeth Raterman and Margaret McPherrin. First place fourth doubles medals went to Ellie Girgis and Grace Severino.

On Tuesday the Wolfpack defeated Whitney Young 4-3. Carla O'Bryne played well at #2 singles and won her match 6-2, 6-3. Sarah Mitchell and Diane Casini at #2 doubles played close for three sets and won 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1 in the third. At #3 doubles Lauren Peterson and Lauren McGowan played well to win their match in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.

Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won 8-0, playing second doubles. Ellie Girgis and Elizabeth Raterman had a 8-1 victory in the third doubles position.

Pack 1-2 at DGS Invite

This weekend the Wolfpack did well in the Downers Grove South Invite. The Pack fell to Nequa Valley in a close match with a score of 3-2 and was swept by Wheaton Warrenville South. In their final match of the day, the varsity defeated host Downers Grove North 4-0 as the weather canceled the rest of the tournament.

The Wolfpack beat Queen of Peace 5-0 last night, winning all of their matches with little difficulty and losing only two games for the entire team. Bethany Lynch won her match at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Carla O'Byrne and Kate Ryan at #1 doubles also won their match with ease 6-0, 6-0. Another great match for the Wolfpack!

The Pack had a great match against Queen of Peace with wins all around. Stephanie DiCaro played first singles, winning 8-0, and Maura Lynch played second singles, winning 8-0. Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin played together in first doubles to shut out their opponents 8-0. Ellie Girgis and Allegre Ehrfeld won 8-1 in the second doubles spot. Mathilde Geannopulos and Grace Severino had an 8-1 win in the third doubles position.

Allegra Ehrfeld and Grace Severino had a 8-0 victory in the third doubles position.

The Wolfpack (2-0 overall) beat Resurrection 7-0 in convincing style. Michelle DeMeo won her match at #1 singles (6-0, 6-0) while Carla O'Byrne and Kate Ryan at #1 doubles also their match with ease 6-0, 6-1 in GCAC play.

The Wolfpack played great this weekend winning the Niles West Invite with a total of 18 points out of a possible 20. Bethany Lynch and Michelle DeMeo came in first place for #1 doubles. Kate Ryan and Carla O'Byrne came in first place in #2 doubles and Lauren Wosnicki and Diane Casini also came in first place for #3 doubles.

Wolfpack Defeat Trinity to Open GCAC Season

On Thursday, the Wolfpack defeated Trinity 5-0 to open the GCAC Season. Michelle DeMeo easily won her match at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0. Bethany also had no trouble with her opponent, defeating her 6-0, 6-0. At #1 doubles, Diane Casini and Carla O'Byrne played well and won convincingly 6-0, 6-1.

The Wolfpack started their season off with an undefeated match against the Trinity Blazers! Stephanie DiCaro played first singles and Maura Lynch played second singles. Both girls played very well against strong opponents, winning their matches 8-5 and 8-6. Claudia Vickrey and Christina Braxton played together in first doubles to shut out their opponents 8-0. Maggie Murray and Margaret McPherrin also won 8-0, playing second doubles. Ellie Girgis and Elizabeth Raterman had a 8-1 victory in the third doubles position.

Pack Tie for Title at DGS Quad

On Monday, the Wolfpack played in the Downers Grove South Quad and tied for first place with Downers Grove South. The Pack won their first match against Downers Grove North with an impressive 6-1 score. Their second match against DGS was called as a tie (2-2) because of darkness. Michelle DeMeo and Bethany Lynch at #1 doubles finished undefeated. Carla O'Bryne and Kate Ryan at #2 doubles also finished undefeated.
