IT Mission Statement

The mission of the IT Department is to continually improve the knowledge and productivity of the students, faculty and staff, in all departments of the school, by supplying them with appropriate technology and then supporting them so that they use it efficiently and effectively.

Technology Resources

Our school has over 400 student, faculty and staff computers including desktops and wireless laptop computers.  210 computers, including 30 wireless laptops are dedicated to student use. This represents a computer to student ratio of 1:7.  All computers run the Windows XP Professional operating systems with the exception of the digital art studio, which consists of six Apple iMac computers running OS 10.2 (Jaguar).  The core productivity software used is Microsoft Office 2007. In addition, there are twenty different pieces of academic software and numerous web resources available to students. Each student, faculty, and staff member have their own computer account with storage space on the school's servers. All computers provide students and staff with high-speed Internet access.

Computer Resource Locations

The school has four primary computer labs.  Two of the labs are reserved for general student or classroom use, the third lab functions as a teaching classroom for all technology courses, while the fourth lab is dedicated to students involved in school activities.  In addition, each of the school's five science labs is equipped with computers. Computers are also available in the Foglia Library, Beigle Reference Center, and the College Counseling Center. A digital art studio, consisting of six Apple iMac computers is available for students in the AP Studio Art program.  The Hurtado Language Center is equipped with 29 computer and is geared up for students in our modern language program.  The center features a video distribution system and applications from leading providers for the language arts.
