Contact John Chandler, Vice President of Development, Tom Ramsden, Director of Capital Gifting; or Meredith Couling, Director of Annual Gifting to make a contribution or to find out more about the following methods of giving to Saint Ignatius College Prep.

  1. Direct Gifts
Direct monetary gifts are accepted in the form of checks, charges, or money orders. Payments can be made to Saint Ignatius College Prep.
  2. Matching Gifts
Check with the Human Resource Office at your place of employment for a matching gift form, and enclose it with your contribution. For a list of matching gift companies, click here.
  3. Deferred Gifts
Saint Ignatius College Prep can manage charitable gift annuities, deferred gift annuities, bequests, life insurance, and the transfer of assets of real and appreciated property.

    • With charitable gift annuities, payments to donors begin as soon as the gift is made, and donors receive immediate tax deductions.
    • With deferred gift annuities, the donor has flexibility in determining the start date of payments. For example, if the gift is made at age 50, the donor may choose the starting date of the payments anytime between the ages of 55 and 80. Charitable deductions are available immediately.
    • Through a bequest, the donor names Saint Ignatius College Prep as the remainder beneficiary of the estate, or makes a specific bequest to support one or more school programs, i.e., financial aid, endowment, construction, etc.
    • Donating paid-up life insurance policies or paying premiums on a new policy that designates Saint Ignatius College Prep as owner or beneficiary.
    • Transferring assets of real and appreciated property gives Saint Ignatius College Prep the opportunity to take possession of real estate and other property to gain assets through later sale.
  4. Stock Gifts
When considering a gift to Saint Ignatius College Prep, donors often think of giving cash. However, because of the enhanced tax benefits, other kinds of assets (stock and real estate) are used to make gifts. If you give a gift of stock, please be sure to include your name, the name of the stock, the number of shares, and the date of the transfer. Be sure to advise your broker to include your name when processing the transfer of stock. If you give a stock certificate that is already in your name, please call us for a stock power document. Your stock certificate will have to be signed and dated by those whose names are on the certificate, and we will need a brief note indicating your intentions of transferring the stock to Saint Ignatius.
