Saint Ignatius Women's Council
The Saint Ignatius Women’s Council strives to carry out the mission statement of
Saint Ignatius College Prep. The council focuses on continuing the work of “men
and women for others” in its service projects and philanthropy. All women connected
in any way to Saint Ignatius are considered members and are encouraged to participate
in council events and committees.
Basic membership in the Women’s Council is requires no financial contribution, however,
membership in the council’s Philanthropic Circle is encouraged. Membership requires
a gift of $250 or more to the school in support of the council’s current philanthropic
appeal. This year’s appeal will continue to fund the new scoreboards in the newly
renovated Gentile Gymnasium. This appeal has been the council’s most ambitious one
to date, with a goal to raise $50,000 by the end of the 2009-2010 academic year.
The next Women’s Council meeting will be held at Saint Ignatius (room 130) on Monday,
June 15, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Discussions will focus on the upcoming Women’s Council
Dinner, to be held September 17 at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago.
The dinner will recognize and celebrate the 30th anniversary of women at Ignatius
and the well-known Marilyn Miglin will be the keynote speaker. If you’re interested
in attending or helping to plan the event, contact Marci Spingola (312) 432-8406
or marci.spingola@ignatius.org.
You may also contact Marci with other Women’s Council questions or concerns.
P.S. Mark your calendar: the Women’s Council will be hosting an outing on August
28 to root on the Chicago Sky—Chicago’s professional women’s basketball team—at
the UIC Pavilion. Watch this page for details or contact Marci for more information.
