FINANCIAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
TUITION
For the 2008-09 academic year the tuition is $11,580.00. A $300 nonrefundable deposit
was paid at registration, the balance of $11,280.00 is payable during the year.
Tuition may be paid in one, two, four or eight installments. Billing is as follows:

Annual Plan - $11,280 plus incidental charges due 8/25/07.

Semester Plan - $5,640 plus incidental charges due 8/25/07 and 12/25/07.
-
Quarterly Plan - $2,820 plus incidental charges due 8/25/07, 10/25/07, 12/25/07
and 02/25/08.
-
Monthly Plan - $1,410 plus incidental charges due 8/25/07, 9/25/07, 10/25/07,
11/25/07, 12/25/07, 01/25/08, 02/25/08 and 3/25/08.
Tuition statements are prepared on the last day of each month, July through June.
Statements are mailed to the billing address on file. Tuition rates for 2009-10
will be available in March, 2009.

Please make all checks payable to Saint Ignatius College Prep. The student’s
name and ID# must be written on the face of the check. Do not mail any correspondence,
post-dated checks or other forms of payment with your tuition. Cash payment must
be presented and receipted at the Treasurer’s Office.
Automatic credit card billing is not an option.
Late payment charges
Tuition may be prepaid in whole or in part at any time. Timely payment is essential.
Balances with a past due amount will be charged a one percent (1%) service charge.
A $15 charge is imposed for returned checks.
Past due accounts
Failure to pay any tuition installment on time will have the following consequences:

A late payment fee of 1% will be charged each month on past due amounts.

Failure to pay by the end of the quarter/semester may result in suspension for
the student until payment is received. Such a suspension is considered an unexcused
absence. An unexcused absence, as stated in the Handbook, means that a student may
not be allowed to make up tests and may receive no credit for work missed during
the absence.

Report cards/transcripts will not be sent until all financial obligations are
met.

Graduating students will not be allowed to participate in commencement exercises
until all financial obligations are met.

Students whose tuition is not paid on a timely basis may be dismissed any time
during the year.

Students whose tuition is not paid on a timely basis may be excluded from school
the following academic year.

Parents who have not paid on a timely basis may be asked to prepay tuition.

Younger siblings may not be accepted at Saint Ignatius College Prep.

A $15.00 charge will be assessed on all returned checks. This charge will be in
addition to applicable late fees.

Accounts that remain unpaid after a student’s dismissal or departure from
Saint Ignatius may be turned over to an outside source for collection. All costs
incurred in the collection process will be the responsibility of the parents.

All tuition situations will be handled at the discretion of the Vice President of
Finance.
Other costs. In addition to tuition, other costs are posted to the tuition
statements:

Plan/PSAT test fee - $13 billed to all sophomores and juniors.

Advanced placement test fees - $85
-
Integrated Science book rental fee/course fee – $30 - $52
-
All seniors are billed a $100 graduation fee and $10 transcript fee.

Retreat fees: $40 required one day retreat for freshmen; $125 required overnight
retreat for sophomores, $150 required two day retreat for juniors; $250 optional
four day retreat for seniors.

Tuition covers six units of credit per year. Extra courses - $250 per ½ unit (semester
credit).

Community service trips - $200 and up.

Field trips, theater outings, school dances, socials, etc - $3 and up.

Parking fee - $500

Class schedule change/late registration fee - $25

College Applications - $20 to $65 per application.

SAT – ACT Test Fees - average $42
-
Class rings - $100 to $400
-
Junior ring dance – approximately $40 per couple
-
Senior prom bid – approximately $140 per couple
Withdrawal
If a student withdraws, is suspended, or dismissed from school before the end of
the academic year, or if the student misses classes due to absence, illness, or
any other causes, the parents are responsible for the tuition for the entire quarter
in which the withdrawal occurs.
Office Hours
The Treasurer’s Office operates year round, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The
office is located on the ground floor in room G30.
