This year, Saint Ignatius College Prep is home to ten National Merit Semifinalists.
They are:
GRACE BAUER
MIKAELA COLAGROSSI
DUNCAN DEPROFIO
WILLIAM FARRELL
ANNIKA GEIERSBACH
EMILY GREENAWALT
MATTHEW JORDAN
EMILIA KRYLOV
KATHERINE PARTEE
GRIFFIN WILCZEWSKI
Here’s what makes their achievement so special:
Only 16,000 students are selected as Semifinalists from all 50 states. This is a small and extraordinary class of bright minds. It represents about 1% of all high school seniors.
John Chandler, Saint Ignatius College Prep President, says, “We celebrate our students’ accomplishments and recognition as they are honored with these awards. We also thank our faculty who have prepared them so well.”
And there’s more!
Saint Ignatius College Prep has been named a 2022 CogniaTM School of Distinction for excellence in education. Cognia, the global nonprofit school improvement organization, recognized 96 schools in the United States and Puerto Rico, and nine in other countries across the globe as Schools of Distinction. More than 1,500 institutions were eligible for the distinction.
Sterling Brown, Prefect of Studies, says, “We are blessed to have such an accomplished and dedicated school community. I would like to thank our faculty and staff for the tremendous work being done everyday to make accomplishments and recognitions like these possible. I would also like to extend a special thanks to Maureen Lonergan and Sean O’Connor for their hard work in leading our accreditation process last year.”
Saint Ignatius College Prep, a Jesuit Catholic school in the heart of Chicago, is a diverse community dedicated to educating young men and women for lives of faith, love, service and leadership.
