Wolfpack Win Tom Menn Invite!

For the fourth consecutive year, the Wolfpack won the Tom Menn trophy at Saturday’s 19th Ward tennis tournament. Hosted by Morgan Park Academy, the tournament took place on the clay courts at the Beverly Hills Tennis Club. Ignatius played two singles and two doubles matches against spirited teams from Morgan Park, Mother McAuley and Marist for a total of 12 matches overall.  During the last round, the Ignatius squad split matches with McAuley, 2-2, and the two teams were tied with eight match victories apiece.  The tie was broken by counting all individual games won by each team. The tally put Ignatius on top with a three-game margin. Playing for Ignatius were seniors Ivvy Hicks, Maya Goyal, Allison Hughes, Megan Kelly, Skye McKenzie and Abby Weis; juniors Kathryn Starshak, Delia Troy and Ellie Wangard; and sophomore Helena Cilella. Ignatius and McAuley will go head-to-head in a regular season match up on Sept. 9.
