CONGRATS TO OUR ILLINOIS STATE SCHOLARS!

Kristyn Hartman
Here's some really good news:
In a Saint Ignatius College Prep Senior Class of 378 students, 157 are Illinois State Scholars!
It's a very good day when you try to bring all those young people together to celebrate the accomplishment.
We asked the Scholars to join us in the McLaughlin Theater for a picture. More than 100 of them showed up to capture the moment!

How Do You Become an Illinois State Scholar?

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state's college access and financial aid agency, recognizes academic achievement every year. The people who receive the certificate designating them a Scholar, are Illinois' exceptional high school students.  To be considered, the ISAC says "students have to perform in the top half of their class at the end of the third semester prior to graduation," and should score at or above the 95th percentile on the ACT or SAT.

This year's large number from Saint Ignatius College Prep is a point of pride. Prefect of Studies, Sterling Brown, said, "The Class of 2023 is a distinguished Senior group. They should be recognized for the tremendous things they've done for our community - not just as students, but as people. I look forward to continuing the celebration of their good work over the course of the second semester!"

Congratulations to our Scholars!
