The Wolfpack softball program competes in the GCAC Red Division in class 4A and focuses on developing the fundamentals of the game. The program runs from the beginning of February through the end of June and has two levels, JV and varsity.
Allison Heraty has guided the Saint Ignatius College Prep Softball Program since the 2012-13 season. During her tenure, her teams have won three GCAC White Championships, four IHSA regionals, two IHSA sectional championships, and two IHSA Super Sectionals. The team placed fourth at state in the 2014 season and finished as the IHSA State Runner-Up in 2022. Heraty received “ICA Sectional Coach of the Year” honors in 2014 and 2021.
Coach Heraty has proudly watched former players compete at the collegiate level and succeed in the coaching ranks. Outside of coaching, Heraty teaches middle school physical education.

The Pack (6-11, 1-4) lost a close game to ICCP 11-9. Senior Payton Goodwin les the offense going 3-3 w/3 RBIs and two runs scored. The Pack (5-10) lost to Oak Forest 17-2 in the Southside Showcase. The Pack managed just three hits from seniors Abby Lee and Nora Walsh and sophomore Giovanna Sanfratello.Read More -
Offensive Battle Goes to Wolfpack
The Pack (5-9) beat Hinsdale South 20-15 in non conference action. Junior Sam Steinhofer reached base all six at bats with a double and 3RBIs. Seniors Payton Goodwin (3-5, 5RBIs) and Caroline Leavy (2 hits, 4 runs) and junior Sophia Fredericks (3-5, double) helped lead the offense.Read More -
Wolfpack Slow Down Mustangs
The Pack (6-10) won their second game in the Southside Showcase 17-14 in nine innings over the host Evergreen Park. Senior Abby Lee went 6-6 on the day including two homeruns, scoring five runs. The Pack (4-9) dropped a close game 6-5 to a ranked OPRF team. Junior Sophia Fredericks provided a boost with a three run homerun in the bottom of the first inning. Junior Rachael Dombrowski had a hit and a stolen base while senior Payton Goodwin had an RBI single.Read More -

The Pack (4-8, 1-3) beat Trinity 14-13 to secure the conference win. Ignatius was led offensively by junior Sophia Fredericks with two hits including a double and an RBI triple. Wolfpack Snag Opener
The Pack (1-0) won their season opener 14-8 over Amundsen. Sophomore Giovanna Sanfratello picked up the win on the mound while junior Sarah Fitzgerald closed out the game with two scoreless innings.
