  • Our Mission at Saint Ignatius Field Hockey is to create and maintain a competitive, respectful and high level environment for all student-athletes. We will accomplish this by fostering a strong work ethic among all levels, teaching teamwork, competitiveness, and leadership through the Jesuit tradition of our school.  Through our mission and core values, we strive to provide all athletes a top level practice, game and season long experience.

To grow the sport of field hockey at Saint Ignatius, we will continue to build our student athletes through hard work, time management, attention to detail and a commitment to fitness, field hockey and season. We as a coaching staff are committed to building our knowledge for the game and pushing ourselves to be better every season through continuing education. We provide hands- on coaching and high level attention to detail, adjusting athlete skills individually and as a whole!

Field Hockey is a club sport at Saint Ignatius. It has this designation because fewer than 10% of the Illinois high schools currently sponsor field hockey teams at their schools. Because it is a club sport, all players will be responsible for paying club fees in order to participate on the team. Club managers communicate all fees and responsibilities at the beginning of the season. There will be a small amount of club fee assistance available. Confidential requests should be directed to Tori Karsten at tori.karsten@ignatius.org.

All players must have an IHSA approved physical on file with the Athletic Department on the first day of tryouts in the fall. All Athletic Department rules will be followed by the Field Hockey program. A copy of the necessary IHSA paperwork can be found on the Ignatius website, Athletics Home Page, under quick links.
If you have any questions about our Field Hockey program. Please contact the Head Coach Tori Karsten at tori.karsten@ignatius.org.
