The Saint Ignatius girls wrestling program is a brand new IHSA sanctioned sport in the 2023-24 school year. Saint Ignatius wrestling will instill the needed qualities of faith, discipline, determination and commitment in each individual, and focus those qualities into a philosophy of selflessness and giving to the school community and team, in order to achieve excellence and build a foundation for lifelong success.

Garduno Finishes Historic Run at State Finals
The Wolfpack sent their first ever girl to the IHSA State Finals this past weekend. Freshman GG Garduno (31-5 overall) went 2-2 on the weekend at 140 lbs. and finished on match away from All-State honors. Congratulations to GG on her historic run to state!Read More -
Garduna Becomes 1st IHSA State Finals Qualifier!!!
The Wolfpack sent five girls to the IHSA Sectional this Saturday and placed 20th with 22 points. Freshman GG Garduna became the first girls wrestler in school history to qualify for the IHSA State Finals! With a 23-2 record coming into the meet at 140 pounds Garduna had a bye in the first round. In round two, she pinned her opponent from Grayslake in :30 and then defeated her TF South opponent by a 6-5 decision. In the championship match the Trevians form New Trier stopped her run with a 13-5 decision but not her bid to the IHSA State Finals. The IHSA State Finals will be held in Bloomington, IL at the Grossinger Motor Arena on 2/16 and 2/17. Come out and see history!Read More -
IHSA Regional Champion!!!
The Wolfpack Giancarla "GG" Garduno, became the first female IHSA Regional Champion in Saint Ignatius history on Saturday at Curie. GG swept through the IHSA Regional pinning everyone of her opponents in the 140 weight class. Garduno now moves on to the IHSA Sectional hosted by Evanston on February 10th.Read More -
Strong Night for Young Wolfpack Squad
The Wolfpack competed against Marist, Andrew and Mother McAuley on Wednesday night. The Pack was led by Valeria Santiago (2-1), GG Garduna (2-1) and Kaeina Robledo (1-2) on the night. GG Garduna moved to 17-1 after taking her first loss of the year to the state's #1 one ranked wrestler.Read More -

The Wolfpack competed in the Rickover Invite on Saturday. Leading the Pack was GG Garduna who won her individual weight class. Garduna is still undefeated this season in girls wrestling events.Read More -

The Wolfpack traveled to Hope Academy on Friday night to take part in the Beat the Streets Invite. GG Garduna won her weight class to stay unbeaten on the season! Karina Robledo placed 3rd in her weight class as the Wolfpack sent four girls to compete in their first ever girls invite.Read More -
Pack Place 6th at Fenton
The Wolfpack took 6th Place overall at the Weiss Invite held at Fenton over the weekend. Leading the Pack was tournament champion GG Garduano who continued her hot start to the season. Karina Robledo also placed 3rd for the Wolfpack.Read More
