Saint Ignatius College Prep, a Jesuit Catholic school in the heart of Chicago, is a diverse community dedicated to educating young men and women for lives of faith, love, service and leadership. Through outstanding teaching and personal formation, the school challenges its talented student body to intellectual excellence, integrity, and life-long learning and growth. Inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ, this community strives to use God's gifts to promote social justice for the greater glory of God.
“Ignatius had been my dream since the 3rd grade. I wanted to be in a beautiful, religious place that I could call home. A place that pushed me harder than I had ever been pushed,” says McKenzie ’24. She found that and more! McKenzie says Saint Ignatius College Prep has helped her expand her world view. As a member of the Model United Nations (SIMUN), she forges relationships and cultivates her public speaking ability. But that’s not all. She says her whole experience - academic, spiritual, extracurricular - “has shaped me as a strong Ignatian.”
REGGIE ’24
When it came time to make a decision about high school, Reggie ’24 really listened to some of his middle school teachers. They were Saint Ignatius College Prep alumni, and he says they spoke very highly of their time at 1076 West Roosevelt Road. “So I was excited when I got in,” says Reggie, who was prepared to work hard. "My teachers said it wouldn’t be easy. It would be a challenge. But I love a challenge.” The basketball player also says he’s found the best of both worlds at Ignatius - great academics and great athletics!
ELEANOR ’24
This is a picture of Eleanor ’24 doing something she loves at Saint Ignatius College Prep: Theater set design and stage management with the Harlequin Crews. Eleanor says her time at Ignatius has been one of growth. She says she chose to be a member of the Wolfpack because she wanted to “get out of my comfort zone.” She also wanted to get to know the city of Chicago better and meet new people. “I’ve attained so many valuable skills,” she says, “It has provided me with the opportunity to re-evaluate what I want to be. It has broadened my horizons, and it’s given me the tools to succeed.”
