Swan Leads Charge of PR's at Lakes Invite

The Wolfpack took part in the Lakes Invitational on Friday which held three separate races. In the Open Race, the Wolfpack entered 22 girls and swept the first seven places in a field of 123 finishers. Lizeth Montes (1st), Gabriella Duque (2nd), Julieta Mayorga (3rd), Maya Williams (4th), Pilar Curran (5th), Maeve Gawne (6th) and Ella Abraham (7th) completed the perfect score. 16 of our runners established new PRs and another added her best time of the season. In the 1st varsity race, Annika Swan's win led the Wolfpack to a second-place finish in one of the most competitive 2A races of the season. Swan finished within one second of the school record that she set last year in this meet. Ella Hwang (10th) and Meghan Semmer (14th) established new PRs while Emma Valencia (24th) and Courtney Beatty (26th) set season-best times. In the 2nd varsity race, the depth of the team showed in this race as the Wolfpack won with a score of 27 points. Sarah Fitzgerald won the race. She was followed closely by Mary O'Reilly (3rd), Yesenia Maley (8th), Allison Leonard (9th) and Jordan Abdo (14th). The group ran close together for most of the race and earned three PRs and two season-best times.
