Wolfpack Take Runner-Up at MCAC Championships

The Wolfpack placed second overall at the Metro Catholic Aquatic Conference Championship. Senior Aisling Crowley and Sophomore Alexis Nelson placed second and fourth in the diving competition. Crowley broke her newly minted school record with a score of 448.15. Senior Captain Jilly MacNamara was named MCAC Senior Swimmer of the Year. Sophomores Liepa Niaura and Maeve Shannon placed fifth and ninth in the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Colleen Tracy was runner up in the 200 individual medley with Freshman Livia Cremer scoring fifth. Junior Madi Manning and Sophomore Franchesca Sanchez placed ninth and twelfth in the 50 freestyle. Senior Captain Maya Arroyo won the 100 butterfly with Sanchez scoring fifth place with a new best time. Tracy, Shannon, and Manning placed third, eighth, and tenth in the 100 freestyle. MacNamara and Freshman Mariposa Arroyo scored third and fifth in the 500 freestyle. MacNamara and Niaura scored big points in the 100 backstroke with first place and fifth place. Mariposa and Livia Cremer placed fifth and seventh in the 100 breaststroke. MacNamara, Arroyo, Arroyo, and Sanchez were fourth in the 200 medley relay. Arroyo, Niaura, Tracy, and Arroyo were third in the 200 freestyle relay. Shannon, Cremer, Sanchez, and Manning formed a B 200 freestyle relay and placed sixth. Arroyo, Niaura, Tracy, and MacNamara were runner-up in the 400 freestyle relay. Saint Ignatius moves onto the IHSA Sectional Championship at UIC on November 4th.
