Wolfpack Place 9th at IHSA State Finals

The Pack placed ninth overall at the IHSA State Championships! Senior Captain Maya Arroyo placed fourth overall in the 100 butterfly and broke her own school record on Friday’s State Preliminaries. Senior Captain Jilly MacNamara followed suit, placing fourth overall in the 100 backstroke, and also broke her own school record on Friday’s State Preliminaries. Senior Aisling Crowley placed 30th overall in the diving competition. Sophomore Colleen Tracy advanced to her first state finals appearance and placed 14th overall in the 200 IM. Sophomore Liepa Niaura placed seventeenth overall in the 100 backstroke following the state preliminaries. Freshman Livia Cremer placed seventeenth overall in the 200 IM in her first state appearance. Freshman Chayse Massimino placed 34th overall in the 200 Freestyle in her first state appearance. Freshman Mariposa Arroyo placed twenty-second in the 500 Freestyle, racing in the fastest preliminary heat. The 200 Medley Relay team of MacNamara, Arroyo, Arroyo, and Niaura placed 7th overall for their first-ever state finals appearance in the event. The 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay team of Arroyo, Niaura, Tracy, and MacNamara also made a state finals appearance, moving up in position from the state preliminaries to score 10th and 9th, respectively. The Wolfpack have now placed top 10 for the last four state championships in a row.
