Wolfpack Grab First W

The Wolfpack earned their first “W” of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Evanston at home tonight. After a back and forth 30 minutes in the first half, freshman Eliana Walker scored a solo goal with 2.5 seconds left in the half after she intercepted the ball in the box and skillfully buried it far post. The defense held strong behind the leadership of Sela Nass and Sophia Steuer. Margot Walsh played with poise in the second half and Emmy Blase played an inspired attacking game to keep the pressure on Evanston. Goalkeepers Addie Allen and Meghan Krayer combined for their first shutout of the season. Meghan made two key saves in the second half to preserve the win.
