The boys volleyball program at Saint Ignatius competes in the Chicago Catholic League. Our program aims to mold student-athletes into exceptional volleyball players. We teach the game of volleyball while building core values: teamwork, integrity, discipline and friendship. Our players are expected to give their personal best at all times while working to achieve competitive greatness through hard work. Our season begins in early March and finishes with IHSA state playoffs in late May or early June.

He leads the Saint Ignatius College Prep Boys Volleyball program. With Strobel at the helm, the Wolfpack has won two CCL White Championships, two Regional Championships, and clinched its first Sectional Championship, earning a trip to the State Finals in 2022. In 2023, Coach Strobel was named the CCL-White Lawless Coach of the Year. Prior to taking over as varsity head coach, Strobel was an assistant coach in the program for 11 years.

Spartans Top Pack
The Wolfpack went on the road for a CCL Blue match to face the Spartans of St. Francis. Ignatius lost 25-17, 25-17 as Ian Burke had 8 kills, Ryan Breen had 15 assists and Paul Karounos chipped in 3 kills/2 aces. Remi Mark and Jackson Blackwell anchored the defense with 7 digs each.Read More -
Grizzlies Bear Down on Pack
The Wolfpack lost a non-conference match to Payton 25-20, 26-24 on Friday. In their fourth match of the week the Wolfpack could not hold a late lead in game two as Charlie Wangard passed at a 2.53% and had 13 digs to lead the Pack. Br. Rice Stops Pack in CCL Opener
The Wolfpack dropped to 6-8 overall and 0-1 in CCL Blue Division play as Br. Rice topped the Pack 25-14, 25-20. Ian Burke led the Pack with 8 kills while hitting .500% for the match. Paul Karounos chipped in 4 kills and Ryan Breen added 16 assists for Ignatius.Read More -
Pack Defeat Northside Prep
The Wolfpack (6-7 overall) went on the road and defeated Northside Prep 25-18, 25-20 in a non-conference match. The Wolfpack middles put on a show as Ian Burke hit .750 with 6 kills on 8 attempts and Ben Corbitt hit .667 with 4 kills on 6 attempts. The duo added three blocks as well while Paul Karounos chipped in 3 kills and 3 aces.Read More -
Wolfpack Reverse Sweep Taft
The Pack (5-7 overall) came back for the reverse sweep on Monday at home against Taft 21-25, 25-18, 25-19 after dropping game one. Leading the Pack was Charlie Wangard with 16 digs and 2 aces. Ryan Breen had a double-double with 31 assists and 16 digs while Ian Burke crushed 11 kills with 3 aces and 4 blocks. Paul Karounos also had a big night with 9 kills, 10 digs and 2 aces.Read More -

The Wolfpack dropped to 4-5 overall after a three game loss to the British School 22-25, 25-23, 16-25. Ian Burke put another offensive show on as he hit .611 with 11 kills, 2 blocks and 1 ace. Wolfpack Struggle at Marist Invite
The Wolfpack dropped to 3-4 overall after a 1-4 finish at the Marist Invite. After two game losses to O'Fallon and Riverside Brookfield on Friday night. The Pack dropped a tough two game set to open Saturday against St. Charles East 25-15, 30-28 and was unable to right the ship against Andrew falling 25-15, 25-16. The day ended on high note with a 2-0 win over Eisenhower as Remi Mark hit .421 with 11 kills and 2 aces while Ian Burke hit an incredible .769 with 10 kills and no errors. The Pack (2-0 overall) went on the road and defeated the Rams of DePaul Prep 25-20, 25-19. Ian Burke led the Pack with 9 kills and hitting .467 while Remi Mack chipped in 5 kills. Ryan Breen had 15 assists and Jackson Blackwell added 6 digs. Paul Karounos had an all around great night with a passer rating of 2.67, 3 aces, 7 digs and 4 kills. Wolfpack Hold Off Caravan Charge
The Wolfpack defeated Mt. Carmel in their home and season opener on Monday night 25-16, 21-25, 25-22. Ian Burke led the offense with 10 kills while Paul Karounos added 8 kills and 10 digs. Danny McMahon (8 assists) and Ryan Breen (20 assists) split the setting duties. Freshman Remi Mark chipped in with 6 kills, 11 digs and a pair of aces as well.Read More
