The Wolfpack dance team extends a warm welcome to all incoming freshmen and those interested in blurring the line between art and athletics. The Saint Ignatius dance team is comprised of both a Varsity and Junior Varsity squad. The Wolfpack dance season runs from November through March. The team performs at most home boys and girls basketball games, as well as competes with the Illinois Drill Team Association and Team Dance Illinois. This talented group of dancers works hard to achieve the goals set forth by their dedicated coaching staff each season.
Last Saturday was an exciting and eventful day for the Wolfpack, as they competed in a doubleheader competition and unveiled a brand-new turn sequence in their routines. In the morning, the team performed at Phoenix Military Academy in the 3A Jazz division, delivering a strong and passionate routine that came just two points shy of advancing, earning them an impressive 3rd place finish. Senior Francesca Kromkowski was awarded the prestigious Rising Star award for her outstanding performance, a true testament to her talent and dedication. In the afternoon, the team competed at Loyola Academy in the Catholic League Championship, where they had a blast connecting with other catholic school teams and enjoying the supportive atmosphere. Despite a few bobbles in their routine, the dancers performed with energy and enthusiasm, finishing 11th out of 11. The day was filled with hard work, growth, and memorable moments, as the team showcased their creativity, skill, and sportsmanship on both stages.
Last Saturday, the Pack delivered their strongest performance of the year at the IHSA Sectional dance competition at Maine East with their routine, The Crown. Competing in the very challenging 2A division, the team gave an incredible performance filled with energy, precision, and passion, ultimately finishing 15th out of 16 teams. Although they will not be advancing to the state competition, the dancers closed their season on a high note, showcasing their hard work and growth throughout the year. It was a proud moment for the team, demonstrating resilience and commitment in one of the toughest divisions.
The Wolfpack kicked off their season at Evergreen Park High School, finishing 11th out of 13 teams. Debuting their jazz routine this season, “Crown,” the team showcased intricate, new turn sequences and many advanced skills in their first floor performance of the year. A strong start with room to grow for an exciting season ahead!
