The focus of the Saint Ignatius Boys Tennis Program is to help players improve their skills and match-playing abilities while building teamwork and physical fitness. The goal of the coaching staff is to create a fun, hard-working and winning atmosphere that values dedication, sportsmanship, and determination. During the season, the coaches will expect the following from team members: 100% participation in practice and match obligations, demonstration of proper respect and behavior at all times and proper management of academic responsibilities. Players will need to plan other obligations around their tennis commitments. Players and families can expect clear communication and complete dedication from the coaching staff.
The Pack dropped their matchup to Lane Tech 4-1. Liam Goyal at #2 singles secured the lone team point with a convincing 8-1 victory. Wolfpack fall to 4-3 in team competition with their next matchup at Marmion Academy.
The Wolfpack lost a tough matchup to Payton 4-1, with their sole victory coming at #1 doubles. The duo of Niko Katsaros and Liam Goyal took the match 8-5 in commanding fashion. The team heads to 4-2 overall with a matchup against Latin next.
The Wolfpack fought through an 0-1 deficit to beat Fenwick 3-2. At #2 doubles the pairing of Niko Katsaros and Talin Bodde shutout their opponents 6-0, 6-0 in their first matchup together. The boys head into Easter break 3-1 overall in match play.
The Pack cruised to a 5-0 sweep of St. Francis, led by a strong showing at both #1 & #2 singles (Liam Goyal and Patrick Malloy, respectively). The Wolfpack improve to 2-1 on the season.
