Ignatian Values Day I – New Videos

Bishop Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago, graciously accepted an invitation to join us for Mass of the Holy Spirit. Building upon his visit three years ago, Bishop Perry will once again offer some reflections on the rich history of The Venerable Fr. Augustus Tolton and the context of his ministry in Chicago around the time Fr. Arnold
Damen, S.J., our school’s founder, and his companions were in their first years at 1076 Roosevelt Road. CLICK HERE to watch Bishop Perry’s Homily.

Our first guest speaker of the day was Ellen Skerrett, a historian of Chicago and its neighborhoods with a special interest in Irish America. Ms. Skerrett helped frame the context of the city of Chicago when Fr. Damen arrived and, through illustrations and stories, paint the beginnings of SICP 150 years ago. CLICK HERE to watch her talk.
