The Wolfpack won its first invite of the season at the Niles West Pat Savage Invitational on Saturday. The team scored just 38 points to defeat New Trier (ranked number 1 in the state—but this was their B-team) (90 points), Loyola (91), Evanston (101), and 20 other schools. Senior Zach Kiley was third in a time of 15 minutes and 57 seconds on the three-mile course around the Niles West athletic fields, with senior Nick Kiley fourth (16:06), sophomore Matt Conroy sixth (16:09), and senior Theo Conroy eighth (16:10), as the Wolfpack put four in the top ten. Junior Thomas Fitzpatrick placed 17th (16:40) to complete the Wolfpack top five, with junior Duncan DeProfio 18th (16:40) and senior Brian Moore 21st (16:49). “We are getting better every week,” said Coach Ed Ernst. “We had four guys running at the front of this race—and now we just need one more guy to get up there with them.”
