School Founder Featured in Chicago Tribune

Saint Ignatius recently welcomed Dutch historian Simone Vermeeren. Using historic and contemporary images and previously overlooked sources, she has traced the extraordinary journey of Fr. Arnold Damen, SJ that began in 1815 with his baptism in a "clandestine" Dutch Catholic church and his decision at age twenty-two to emigrate to the U.S. where he founded Church of the Holy Family and Saint Ignatius.
