The IHSA 2A Boys Golf State Championship is returning to 1076 West Roosevelt as the Wolfpack celebrated a historic achievement on Saturday afternoon. Boys Golf became the very first program in Saint Ignatius history to win two IHSA State Championships, accomplishing this feat in back-to-back years (2021 and 2022). This marks the third IHSA State Championship in school history, also joining the Girls Water Polo state championship that was won in 2013. The team won the two round event at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois, home of the Illinois State Redbirds. The Wolfpack finished the weekend with an overall score of 603, beating second place Benton (606) and third place Benet Academy (620). The team led after Round 1 by three strokes and was able to hold off the competition through the final hole. Seniors Ian Love (145, 4th Overall) and Liam Nelson (147, 7th Overall) were top finishers and medalists. The Pack were also led by JR Charlie Krasnewich (153), JR Jacob Gupta (160), SR Quinn Ross (163) and SR Matt Walsh (172).
