A WARM WELCOME FOR THE NEW BOYS CROSS COUNTRY HEAD COACH!

Mike Hurley
Saint Ignatius College Prep Athletics is excited to announce Chris Korabik '14 as its next Boys Cross Country Head Coach.

Coach Korabik steps into his new role after many years of being involved with the cross country program as both an assistant coach and an accomplished student-athlete for the Wolfpack.  In addition to serving as an assistant coach for three seasons, including helping lead the team to its first IHSA 3A state qualifying season (2022) and an IHSA 2A 6th Place finish (2023), Coach Korabik was a two-time captain (2013 and 2014) and Saint Ignatius Student-Athlete of the Year (2014).  He is also a school record holder, multiple-time Chicago Catholic League champion and IHSA 3A State 1600m Runner-up.

After graduating from Saint Ignatius, Coach Korabik ran cross country for DePaul University, where he was part of the first ever men's Big East championship team (2017).  He was a school record holder and Big East All-Conference selection in 2017, while acting as team captain for the Blue Demons from 2016-2018.  After graduating from DePaul University, he then attended Georgia Tech as a graduate transfer and competed in the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships in 2019.  Prior to returning to Saint Ignatius as an assistant coach, he served as an assistant cross country coach for the Yellow Jackets in the fall of 2019.

At this time we would also like to thank Heraldo Morrison for stepping up to serve as our Interim Boys Cross Country Head Coach. His willingness to help guide and lead our program during the past season's time of need remains greatly appreciated and valued.

Please join us in those words of thanks and in welcoming Coach Korabik into his new role for the Wolfpack!
