Wolfpack Put Up Huge Point Total at IHSA Sectional

The Wolfpack finished second out of 17 teams in the IHSA Sectional with 132 points, our largest total in many years. The Pack qualified for the IHSA State Finals in nine events and scored points with top-eight finishes in 17 of the 18 events. State qualifiers were; the 4x800 Relay team of Meghan Semmer, Courtney Beatty, Emma Valencia and Ella Hwang; Lizeth Montes in the 3200; Tori Scott in the Long Jump; Maliyah Miller in the 100 and the 400; Annika Swan in the 800 and 1600. Swan broke the school record in the 800 again; the 4x100 Relay team of Scott, Sophia Mendoza, Chika Ezike and Miller who broke the school record for the second meet in a row; the 4x400 Relay team of Maeve Griffin, Semmer, Gabriella Duque and Swan who also set a school record. Many others contributed to the 2nd-place finish. The 4x200 Relay team of Scott, Mendoza, Ezike and Tylar Mayberry finished third, narrowly missing a qualifying time. In addition to Scott's win in the Long Jump, field events added lots of points for the Wolfpack. Emme Alexander finished 3rd in the High Jump.
