Pack Look Gritty in Opener

The Wolfpack battled to a hard-fought 2-2 draw against rival Whitney Young in a dramatic Jim Buckner Classic tournament clash. Saint Ignatius set the tone early when sophomore Tobias Scala Lopez struck first, giving the Wolfpack a 1-0 advantage with a sharp finish. Whitney Young fought back to level the match and then took a 2-1 lead late in the second half, putting the pressure firmly on Saint Ignatius with less than 10 minutes on the clock. The Wolfpack response was immediate as junior captain Liam Hladik made a relentless run into the box, drawing a foul and earning a penalty kick under immense pressure. Fellow senior captain Diego Mora stepped up to the spot and calmly slotted the ball home to equalize, capping off a gritty team performance.
