The Pack topped DePaul Prep 5-2 on Tuesday at Horner Park. Tess Connelly homered to left field, which helped Ignatius tie the game at two in the top of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, the Pack broke up the tie when Betty Somers singled, scoring one run. Then a home run to center field by Claire Tansor followed to extend the lead to 5-2. Connelly started in the circle surrendering one hit and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Tansor tossed two innings of no-run ball in relief. The righty surrendered two hits, striking out two and walking none. Tansor and Connelly were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs. Lily Reed set the tone at the top of the lineup with three hits in four at bats. Somers collected two hits in four at bats.
