Pack to IHSA Sectional Final for First Time in Program History

The Wolfpack (16-4) won their first-ever IHSA Sectional game on Saturday, defeating host Oak Park-River Forest 18-6. The Huskies scored first to take a 6-0 lead into halftime, a score that held until midway through the fourth quarter. The Wolfpack then scored twice, first to tie the game at six, and later on a 4th-and-goal, 1-yard TD run by Josie Borkowski to give the Wolfpack their first lead at 12-6 with 20 seconds remaining. Sadie Polk, Leah Rice, Rose Cummings and Catherine Sperduto all had key plays on defense to keep OPRF out of the end zone in the second half. Borkowski sealed the win with an interception return for a TD on the final play of the game. The 3rd-seeded Wolfpack advance to face top-seeded Kenwood in the IHSA Sectional Final on Tuesday at OPRF.
