The Wolfpack dance team extends a warm welcome to all incoming freshmen and those interested in blurring the line between art and athletics. The Saint Ignatius dance team is comprised of both a Varsity and Junior Varsity squad. The Wolfpack dance season runs from November through March. The team performs at most home boys and girls basketball games, as well as competes with the Illinois Drill Team Association and Team Dance Illinois. This talented group of dancers works hard to achieve the goals set forth by their dedicated coaching staff each season.
The Wolfpack delivered a powerful performance this weekend at the Maine East Invitational, continuing their competitive momentum and demonstrating significant growth across multiple scoring platforms. In the IHSA Class 2A division, the Wolfpack raised their overall score by three points, a meaningful jump that reflects the Wolfpack increased clarity, technique, and performance quality. This improvement marks an important step forward as the Pack continues refining their competitive season. Ignatius also earned second place in the IDTA AAA Lyrical category, competing against top programs and receiving strong marks for design, difficulty, and overall effect. The lyrical routine featured many new elements including a newly added trio highlight performed by sophomore Abigail Baker and freshmen Phoebe Pilliod and Serafina Shaughnessy. The trio showcased exceptional precision, musicality, and emotional connection, providing a standout moment that elevated the routine’s overall impact. With confidence building and competitive results trending upward, the Wolfpack continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence, teamwork, and artistic growth. Fans and supporters are encouraged to come out to Providence Catholic on Sunday, January 18, to cheer on the dancers at the Catholic League Championship.
The Wolfpack gave a poised and powerful debut of their jazz routine this weekend at the Evergreen Park Mustang Invitational, performing to Whitney Houston’s timeless “Greatest Love of All.” The routine showcased both emotional artistry and technical excellence, earning some of their highest scores in difficulty and technique. Featured turner and soloist Lola Bohem delivered a flawless, turn combination that drew immediate attention from judges and spectators. The routine also highlighted an advanced turn sequence performed by seniors Jama Quinn, Lola Bohem, and Eliana D’Arco, along with sophomore Abigail Baker, demonstrating the team’s synchronization, strength and commitment to precision. The Wolfpack finished 12th out of 18 teams, receiving strong feedback from judges and valuable insights as they continue refining their routine this season. The Pack is energized and eager to take the floor again on January 11th at Maine East, building on this successful debut as they grow in confidence, connection and competitive momentum.
