    Introduction
    Our staff endeavors to develop our athletes not only on the court but off the court as well. Student-athletes who participate in volleyball learn self-discipline, perseverance, hard work and a sense of personal and school pride. Developing personal integrity is also a goal of the Saint Ignatius volleyball program.

    The Team
    Saint Ignatius volleyball is a Class 3A program that competes in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference Red Division during the regular season. The Wolfpack compete in 15 regular season matches along with 4 tournaments at the varsity level. The Wolfpack’s strong schedule challenges our players to perform at their highest level both mentally and physically throughout the season.

  • Pack Take 3rd at GCAC Championships

    Congratulations to the Wolfpack on taking third place at the GCAC Championships. The Wolfpack went 2-1 on the day with wins over Fenwick (25-14, 25-10), De La Salle (25-9, 25-16) and a tough loss to McAuley in the semi finals, (15-25, 20-25). The Wolfpack finished the season 29-7. 
  • Pack Closes Out Huskies

    The Wolfpack closed out their regular season with a 25-17, 25-16 win over OPRF. Marin Thaxton had four kills and 13 digs and Emma Basil had 10 digs and 11 assists. The Wolfpack is 27-6 heading into the GCAC playoffs. 
  • Pack Stop Friars

    The Wolfpack (5-1 conference, 26-6 overall) closed out their conference play with a win over Fenwick 25-14, 25-18. Jessica Root had four kills and Nora Clancy had seven kills and two blocks. 
  • Wolfpack Take 2nd at LP Invite

    The Wolfpack placed second in the Lake Park Invite over the weekend, taking first in their pool with wins over West Chicago (25-23, 25-11), Lake Park (25-23, 25-13) and Naperville North (25-11, 21-25, 15-11). They came out on top of a tight match in the semis vs Geneva (26-27, 25-19, 17-16) but ran out of gas in the Championship match against Neuqua Valley, dropping it in two sets (19-25, 23-25). The Wolfpack was led by Sydney DeProfio (30 kills, four aces) and Mariella Ciaravino (22 kills, eight aces). 
  • Pack Slow Down Broncos

    The Wolfpack defeated Montini on the road 25-16, 25-9. Nora Clancy had six kills and two blocks and Marin Thaxton had five kills and two aces. 
  • Pack Take 3rd in Sliver Division

    The Wolfpack took third place in the silver division at the McAuley Classic, going 2-1 in pool play with wins over Lockport (25-20, 25-18) and Providence (25-9, 25-9) and a loss to Marist (17-25, 15-25). In bracket play, the Wolfpack started off strong against Sandburg with a 25-11 first set win, but couldn't hold on to the match and lost the next two sets 18-25, 11-15. They ended the day with a win in the third place match over McAuley's Freshman A team, 25-15, 25-17. 
  • Wolfpack Top McAuley in Thriller

    The Wolfpack (17-3, 3-1 conference) took down conference rival Mother McAuley in an exciting three game victory 25-23, 19-25, 25-23. They came out strong in the first set, up 17-13 at the first timeout but McAuley went on a 6-2 run to tie it at 19. Point for point, the Wolfpack battled to a first set win 25-23. The Mighty Macs were out for revenge in set two and led the entire way, taking the set 25-19. The third set started out point for point but the Wolfpack were soon trailing. Down 16-19, the Wolfpack started to close the gap, forcing McAuley to call a timeout at 18-19. Tied at 20, the Wolfpack pulled ahead with a kill by Marin Thaxton and at 24-23, Sydney DeProfio went back to serve and sent an ace over to close out the match. The Wolfpack was led by captains Sydney DeProfio (nine kills, 12 assists, five aces), Emma Basil (13 digs, 15 assists, two assists) and Julia McHugh (16 digs). 
  • Pack Win Thriller Against Spartans

    The Wolfpack took down Marian Catholic last night at home in an exciting 25-21, 24-26, 25-15 victory. Sydney DeProfio led the offense with ten kills and Julia McHugh anchored the defense with 12 digs. 
  • Cruise Control for Wolfpack

    The Wolfpack cruised to a 25-7, 25-10 victory over Jones. Emma Basil had five aces and eight assists and Nora Clancy had five kills. 
  • Pack Continue Hot Streak

    The Wolfpack (14-3 overall, 2-1 conference) defeated the De La Salle Meteors on the road 25-10, 25-15. Meredith Tovey had three kills and a block and Jessica Root had two kills. 
  • Wolfpack Defeat Celtics

    The Wolfpack (13-3 overall, 1-1 Conference) defeated the Providence Celtics on the road last night. After a dominant game one (25-12), the Celtics came out strong in game two, taking an 8-3 lead. The Wolfpack trailed the whole set, down 20-24 with Providence having game point. Mariella Ciaravino (three kills, two aces) stepped back to serve and brought the Wolfpack back on top, winning the match with a 26-24 set two victory. Nora Clancy (eight kills) and Marin Thaxton (four kills) led the offense. 
  • Wolfpack Win Oswego East Invite

    The Wolfpack went 5-0 and won the Oswego East Invite over the weekend. In an exciting first match, the Pack had a slow start, dropping the first set 18-25 against Oswego East. They gained momentum in the second set and carried that into the tiebreaker. They were point for point in the third set and came out on top 22-20. The Wolfpack cruised to pool play victories against Sandwich (25-4, 25-11) and Elgin (25-8, 25-10) and battled against Neuqua Valley (25-23, 25-23), erasing a 6-12 deficit in game two to take the match. In the championship match against Kaneland, the Pack had a strong start, taking the first set 25-8. Down 3-8 to start the second set, they were determined to win in two and pulled off the victory 25-21. Nora Clancy had 33 kills in the tournament, Hannah Kopec had 16 assists and nine aces and Sydney DeProfio had 20 kills and 18 assists. 
  • Wolfpack Defeat Nazareth

    The Wolfpack defeated Nazareth Academy on the road, 25-19, 25-20. After a slow start, down 8-14, Emma Basil (one kill, one ace, 13 assists) stepped back to serve. An 8-0 run put the Wolfpack on top and gave them enough momentum to take the first set. The Wolfpack took charge of the second set but Nazareth fought back, tying it at 17. A kill from Nora Clancy (eight kills) put the Wolfpack back on top and led to an 8-3 run to win the match.
  • Loyola Stops Wolfpack

    The Wolfpack dropped their first conference match of the season against Loyola, 25-11, 25-19. After a slow start in set one, they came out strong with a 6-0 lead in the second set. But the Ramblers closed the gap and came out on top. Sydney DeProfio had six kills and six digs for the Wolfpack.
  • Redhawks Defeat Wolfpack

    The Wolfpack dropped a road match to Marist, 17-25, 16-25. Nora Clancy had six kills and two aces and Julia McHugh led the defense with 12 digs. 
  • Red Devils Edge Pack

    The Wolfpack dropped their home opener in a close match with Hinsdale Central, 22-25, 26-24, 23-25. Nora Clancy had seven kills and an ace and Sydney DeProfio had 16 digs and 11 assists. 
  • Wolfpack Win Opener

    The Wolfpack won their season opener against Downers Grove North 25-17, 23-25, 25-17. Mariella Ciaravino had 11 kills and Sydney DeProfio had eight kills and three aces.
