The Saint Ignatius Wolfpack bowling program will instill the needed qualities of faith, discipline, determination and commitment in each individual and focus those qualities into a philosophy of selflessness and giving to the school community and team in order to achieve excellence and build a foundation for lifelong success.
Saint Ignatius bowling competes in the Chicago Catholic League South Division. Season runs from October until January finishing with the IHSA State Finals in O’Fallon, IL.
The Pack dropped a match to a Providence team that was on fire- with multiple bowlers on the opposing side having streaks of 7+ strikes! The Wolfpack did manage a turkey with senior Frank Rottman and Senior Diego Berry-Marinez bowled a season high 387 pins. Prior to the strike fest in the second two games, Ignatius was able to hold Providence within 50 pins for most of the first game.
The Pack rode past the Knights of ICCP in CCL action bowling a 531, 500 and 585 series. Senior Frank Rottman had one turkey, contributing 495 pins to the overall pin total to lead Ignatius. The Wolfpack will be back in action on Saturday against a CCL South opponent at Stardust Bowl in Addison.
The Wolfpack lost to the Ramblers of Loyola 9-0. Every Wolfpack bowler rolled over a 100 pin game throughout the match. The Pack kept up with a strong Rambler team during the second game holding them to a fifty point lead through much of it. Spares were plentiful with junior James Graham giving a master class in picking them up. Graham recorded his first career turkey in the tenth frame of his final game, bowling a 369 for the night. Senior Frank Rottman had one turkey each in the first and second games rolling a 509 for the evening.
The Wolfpack was unable to steal a point from the Rams of DePaul Prep falling 9-0. Senior Captain Frank Rottman led the way with a high game of 194 while throwing a pair of turkey's.
The Pack fell to the Shamrocks of St. Patrick 9-0 on Tuesday at Habetler Bowl. Leading Ignatius was seniors Frank Rottman (176 average) and Emmet Baron (143 average) for the match. Rottman led all Ignatius game scores with a 210 while freshman Ethan Widmayer rolled his first ever hambone of four strikes in a row.
The Wolfpack fought hard against the Mustangs of St. Rita Saturday but lost 9-0. In game two the Pack came within 40 pins of the Mustangs but could not grab a point from St. Rita. Ignatius was led by Ethan Widmayer who continued his hot streak showing continual improvement. Senior captain Frank Rottman had two hambones as he led the Pack in pin count. Up next is CCL powerhouse St. Patrick on Tuesday, December 2nd at Habetler Bowl.
The Pack lost against powerhouse Notre Dame on Thursday 9-0. Leading Ignatius was Senior Frank Rottman who bowled two turkeys and a hambone. Freshman Ethan Widmayer made his varsity debut with a all time best of 142.
The Wolfpack faced off against St. Viator last night falling 9-0. The Pack fought hard in an evenly match contest but the Lions did not give up a point. Frank Rottman had two turkeys and a hambone last night to lead Ignatius.
The Pack had its first taste of Baker Bowling this weekend, playing every school in the CCL but struggle going 1-14 in games. The Pack was led by Frank Rottman, Ethan Windmayer, and James Graham who picked up lots of strikes, winning a match over De La Salle and coming within ten pins of several other schools. Rottman even picked up a difficult 7-4-10 split. Next up we have St. Viator back at Habetler Bowl on Tuesday.
The Pack fell to the Friars in a heated matchup 9-0. The Pack came within 200 pins in the final game with Junior James Graham having an outstanding game, rolling a 141 in his first game of the season. Senior Frank Rottman and Sophomore Ezana Beniyam bowled a 349 and 344 series in the match. Freshman Ethan Widmayer contributed to the strikes and the spares throughout the game. Bowling action starts again on Saturday with a CCL Baker Series and a dual on Tuesday against St. Viator.
The Wolfpack rolled past the IC Catholic Prep Knights in their first match of the year. The small but mighty team of Frank Rottman, Diego Berry-Marinez, and Paul Skomoroch picked up over 1600 pins in the three games, winning each one and taking the match. Rottman had two turkeys in his impressive performance while Skomoroch and Berry-Marinez both contributed several strikes. Up next is Fenwick on Thursday at Habetler Bowl.
