ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Attendance for Academic Courses
Full attendance is necessary for the successful completion of a Summer Programs academic course. Particularly for the three-week courses, students are expected to attend class everyday. Please avoid signing up for classes on dates that may conflict with vacations and other summer camps.
Cost
For the 5th and 6th grade Pack Camps, the cost is $200 per week or $185 per week if a student is registered for three or more total weeks of Pack Camp. All who register a 5th or 6th grade student for three or more total weeks of Pack Camp should enter the code PackCampDiscount in the 'alternate payment code' at checkout.
For the Junior High courses, the cost is $275 for each three-week course or $525 for two courses in one session. All who register a junior high (7th or 8th grade) student for two academic courses should enter the code 2CourseDiscount in the 'alternate payment code' at checkout.
For Current Students and Incoming Freshmen, the cost for most courses is $550 with a few exceptions noted in the course descriptions.
Athletic and co-curricular camp costs vary. Discounts are available for some camps when students register for more than one week. All costs and any discounted costs are already reflected on the 8to18 portal for registration. For example, one week of basketball camp is $140, but if the student registers for the two weeks of camp option on 8to18, the cost is automatically adjusted $250 for those two weeks. Please see the specific camp descriptions and 8to18 registration options for associated costs.
Payment in full is due with registration materials. If extenuating circumstances arise, partial refunds for those who qualify will be available by contacting the Summer Programs Office. Financial aid is available for for current Ignatius students. Saint Ignatius College Prep reserves the right to cancel a course or camp if minimum enrollment is not achieved.
Credit
All 5th through 8th grade courses are non-credit enrichment courses. Most Current Student and Incoming Freshmen academic courses, with a few exceptions noted in the course descriptions, are non-credit courses.
Dress
Students' clothing must be neat, clean, and appropriate for school. Walking shorts are allowed. All dress code regulations for athletic and co-curricular camps will be outlined on the first day of camp.
Location
Saint Ignatius College Prep is located at 1076 W Roosevelt Road, Chicago IL. The parking lot is located west of the main school doors at the corner of Roosevelt Road and Racine. Students enter and exit the school building through the Walsh Garden Entrance accessed by the gate in between the light at Blue Island and the main school doors.
Transportation
Saint Ignatius does not have a summer bus service. However, we sell reduced-fare student Ventra cards and distribute reduced-fare Metra letters. Located next to the University of Illinois - Chicago campus on Roosevelt Road, Saint Ignatius is easily accessible by several CTA bus routes that link the school to downtown train stations and several CTA rail lines. The Blue Line El is just a ten-minute walk. By car, the school is within a few minutes of the Dan Ryan, Kennedy, Eisenhower, and Stevenson Expressways.
