The Lead Listening Society

Positive Power of Effective Listening

The Lead Listening Society promotes the positive power of effective listening - one of the greatest skills rarely taught. The Lead Listening Society grows “Guanacastes,” that is, leaders who lead by listening. We host an annual Listening Conference and offer "Listening Read Alouds" for kindergarten and elementary school students. Interested members are inducted each academic year to become Guanacastes (or “listening trees”). In line with Ignatian spirituality, God gives us “two ears and one mouth” so that we can L-I-S-T-E-N twice as much as we speak. The Listening Society is open to ALL.

Dean Jackson, Writer

"Listening is an art that requires attention over talent, spirit over ego, others over self."
